Few crafts in India are identified by the artisans who practice them. This 'Pabi' bag is designed and made by an enterprising woman, Pabiben in Kutch. She has her own signature stitch which is known as the 'Hari Zari' stitch.
This is a Pabi clutch bag, the designs on which reflect a modern twist to the traditions of the Rabari community of Kutch, Gujarat where Pabiben comes from. It also celebrates the creativity of the local community. Today, Pabiben's bags are so popular that they have helped revive the art of the Rabaris and given many in the community a sustainable livelihood. Let us also be a part of Pabiben’s inspiring journey.
