You visit any household in the village of Bhujodi, which comes in the Kutch district of Gujarat and you are sure to find the local community involved in some or the other kind of handicraft work. One such community is of weavers, known as Vankars who have been involved in weaving for ages. Their unique Bhujodi weave goes back more than 500 years ago when this community of weavers settled in Bhuj. This Bhujodi Stole is handwoven in a traditional way using natural dyes. The motifs are simplistic and reflect the rich culture of the Vankar community. What makes this stole unique is that it can be used in all seasons - providing warmth in winters and also offering an airy coolness in summers.
